| Solar Pool Heating Too!
This solar hot tub kit can be used to heat above-ground and inground swimming pools. Two-kits for the average pool should raise your temperature 10 degrees during the swimming season.
LAW OF THERMODYNAMICS
A system is separated from the remainder of the universe by a boundary which may be imaginary or not, but which by convention delimits a finite volume. The possible exchanges of work, heat, or matter between the system and the surroundings take place across this boundary. Boundaries are of four types: fixed, moveable, real, and imaginary.

Ok, my interpretation of the Law of Thermodynamics is applied to the solar hot tub kit and its use for heating pools.
Today, solar pool heating systems use the standard AC Pool pump as the mechanical device to push water from the pool to the roof, thru solar thermal collectors, and back heated to the pool. These AC pool pumps are one of the biggest users of electricity for homes with pools. These pump at 60 to 70 Gallons per minute (GPM). Solar heating means the pump will be on longer to heat, in most cases.
This method is tried and true and will raise the temperature of your pool by 10 or more degrees. If you want more temperature, add more solar thermal collectors.
At Solar Hot Tub dot com we believe in the solar powered slow pump for heating a pool.
Our 4 GPM vs 60 GPM pump
for pool heating.
Until proven wrong, we believe the following:
Test configuration: 2 units of 4' x 20' extruded plastic solar thermal water heater.
1. the 4GPM solar pump - heats the water 25+ degrees as it passes thru the solar thermal water heater.
2. the 60GPM AC pool pump heats the water 2 or 3 degrees as it passes thru the solar thermal water heater.
We believe that the law of thermodynamics applies and both systems will provide the same heating result to the pool.
Cost Difference is the key.
The Solar Hot Tub Kit pump is off-the-grid and operates on a 68 watt solar electric panel. Free to operate.
The AC Pool Pump solar pool heating system costs 200 to 400 kWh a month in grid electricity. at $.35 per kWh this is $70 to $140 a month.
NOTE: we also sell a solar powered pool pump that operates at 60 to 70 GPM on 1KW of solar electric panels. This pump is designed for pool circulation and filtration. Please see Modern Solar Estate
